After being out of shooting for quite a while (I actually didn't have a single gun), I decided to get back into things after I hit the range with my brother and his girlfriend over the Christmas holiday. Apparently I decided to jump in head first.
Thursday morning: picked up a Kahr PM9. Bought 2 extra mags and have night sights waiting to go onto the pistol.
Friday morning: Won a GunBroker auction for a Springfield Armory Loaded 1911, bought 2,000 rounds of ammo, new VZ grips, and 5 Wilson Combat Service magazines.
Friday night: Got off of work and started browsing GunBroker again. Impulsively bought a NIB P225 Police Pistol with 3 mags and night sights. Then hit TopGun Supply and bought an additional 10 mags.
Saturday night: Bought a 4" Smith & Wesson model 617.
I figure I'm done for a while as I have most of my bases covered. I just can't wait for everything else to show up.
I know this thread wouldn't be complete without a pic, so here's the PM9.

Yeah, I have a feeling I won't regret any of them. I've always wanted a 1911 (kind of felt like every gun owner should have one due to its history), felt I need a combat style pistol (both the P225 and 1911 cover this), a carry gun (PM9), and a revolver/22LR which the 617 satisfies. I thought about getting a .357 Mag but I wanted to keep the number of calibers I shoot to a minimum. I could have gotten a 9mm 1911 but didn't feel it would be quite right for my first and potentially only 1911 not to be a .45. My bank account is hurting but the smile on my face says it's worth it. :D
Talk about jumping in the deep end

Best Choices for Self Defense Ammunition
Man, your wallet must be on fire.
Did ya leave any money for a long gun?
Don't believe what you hear and only half of what you see!

So, you got a 1911, and various 9mms, but NOT a .357mag?? That's some sort of crime. I just know it. Now I have to find out where, and how to go about confiscating all your guns.....

Please try to remember- I have a very dry sense of humor. It usually sounds mean, but isn't meant to be.
RevolvingMag:LOL, I'm sure a nice .357 Magnum revolver is in the future, but right now I wanted to limit how many calibers I'd be shooting.
varob: Unfortunately at this time, a long gun is out of the question. I've had my eye on a Saiga SGL21, an AR-15 variant, or a Springfield Armory M1A Scout but I'll have to start saving up.
Looks like you are set for a while!
Practice often and enjoy.
Well, if you were out of guns you have plenty of the right stuff now. Good scores!
WOW! Wish I had your wallet! Enjoy.
