I really find it to be a good carry piece. Yes, I know it's not a .50 cal
but it's slim and safe and has a reasonable amount of firepower.
Thanks

I had considered those. They are actually easier to find than a colt mustang and cheaper to boot. Except they are larger in size...
Welcome to the forums...
One edition of American Handgunner had an article on the 1908....with great photos of a couple of customized 1908's...I think two of them were by Novak.

Use to carry this one some in the plate pocket in the front of my vest while on duty as my 3rd. Sometimes would carry it off duty. Very nice carry piece. Not a sharp edge or corner anywhere. Very comfortable.

I'm glad a pic was posted.
Can you still get mags and such ?
Any older than that, and you would have to figure a way to conceal your powder horn.
I've got one of those in .32 that my grandfather used to carry. I think it is pretty much the same except for the caliber.
Yup, you can still find mags. They're not like walking into the nearest gun store and finding them hanging on the wall but they're still out there. I bought a new one a few years. Occasionally one of the aftermarket mag companies will tool up and run a batch.
The one pictured was built in 1921. They were made up thru WWII and were issued in either .32 or .380 to General officers if they wanted one.
That one pictured will still hold it's own on the range with any service weapon made today. The only thing I've done was replace springs. Don't know if the springs needed replacing but since I was carrying it and springs are cheap then it made sense to swap them out.
