You'll put your eye out with that thing
"Outside of the killings, Washington has one of the lowest crime rates in the country,"
--Mayor Marion Barry, Washington , DC .
No because the gas escaping through the exhaust ports is hot and going super sonic and act like a tiny blow torch. This action sears off tiny pieces (and sometimes small chunks) of the soft brass/copper jacket alloy. Small flakes come off the jacket, and on full metal jackets with exposed lead in the back of the bullet melts and gets spit out.DRM the same particles you speak of would not magically disappear without a port they would still be there so would not the danger still be present.
Further, a tapered Jet Nozzle (properly sized) delivers up to three times as much velocity as straight drilled hole. Slots and other cuts are even less effective than a drilled hole.
FWIW: I held the Jet Comp Patent for putting Jet Nozzles on firearms barrels for years. I stopped porting carry guns (even though I was making good $$$ at it ) when I realized what was happening.
