I bought my first defensive caliber gun. Funny story too, the UPS truck was pulling out of the gun store parking lot as I was pulling in yesterday during my lunch break. I walked up to the counter intent on buying a Gen 4 Glock 26, but all I saw in the case was the 27. I asked the guy behind the counter they had one in stock. He told me that he thought one "had just come in." So I took a look around while I waited for the 26 to be logged in by the FFL, and walked out with a fresh off the truck gun. The test fire date is 2/3/12.
I took it to the range this morning and put 150 flawless rounds through it (100 American Eagle 115 grain FMJ and 50 Ranger-T 124 grain +P). I am in love with this gun.
Very nice choice, congrats

Congrats...You now have THE GUN, now GET THE TRAINING!
Sometimes in life you have to stand your ground. It's a hard lesson to learn and even most adults don't get it, but in the end only I can be responsible for my life. If faced with any type of adversity, only I can overcome it. Waiting for someone else to take responsibility is a long fruitless wait.
Congrats on the new gun.

Nothing like a new gun to put a smile on your face.

That's an awful strange looking 1911..... :-)
Ok, still reacting to the 1911's suck thread. Still ticked he wouldn't approve my last comment on the youtube site. Congrats on the new gun. enjoy it. And like I kept trying to tell the youtube guy, You need to take it out, put some rounds through it, and verify that it is accurate and reliable before trusting it for defense. While not to my taste, a Glock is a Fine defensive weapon, but, EVERY manufacturer makes the occasional lemon. test the gun for yourself, then trust the GUN, not the model.
I'll be quiet now.
A 1911 is Not an obsession, it's simply a recognition that it's THE Gun. :-) All others are runner ups. And hey, if all else fails, aim for the nose and fling it to knock out your foe. Let's see y'all do that with a kel-Tec. ;-)
