    1970 Colt Cobra

Recently acquired this through family. Has a rich and interesting history. Shoots great, unbelievable lockup ( I assume due to the rotation clockwise into the frame), much different trigger than I am used to, and a great shooter. I decided to make it my EDC piece.

Contacted Erik at Sideguard to give me a holster with some hand made leather class.... worthy of carrying it in. It actually fits in the high noon that the LCR fits in so I am carrying it in that for the time being.

Shoots great. I did notice I was shooting a bit to the left to begin with. Probably a combination of me squeezing the small grip and getting used to the new trigger. I may get a tyler-t for it. 15oz unloaded and 18 oz loaded with standard 158gr lead ball or LSWC.

I know some people say to carry +P as shooting in self defense won't harm the weapon, but I am good with six shots of LSWC. I really like this piece and it has family history.

The 148Gr match wadcutters shoot great out of it too.

Here are two quick cylinder dumps at 7 yards with the 158's and the 148 WC's..... excellent combat accuracy and you can tell the difference between the two types of rounds

I really like this weapon, it is too bad Colt abandoned the snubby market in the 80's.

Revolvers are starting to grow on me. Seeing a "vintage" one like yours is making me a believer. Can you share some of the "rich and interesting history" of it?

The little Colts are some of the sweetest shooting snubbys made, Colt made a big mistake in discontinuing them.

Yep! ...And I made a big mistake in getting rid of mine - Had a DS and a Cobra, both mid-70's vintage. What was I thinking??? Still have an Agent, but it's the mid-80's edition - the rough Parkerized version. Not the same.

Older Cobras are terrific shooters. I had one in the 60's and it was stolen. Seeing yours brings back fond memories.

    Best of luck with it.
