Anybody know of a good 1911 gunsmith that both sells and installs sights? Nobody around here, no gunsmiths in the area. Would just send the slide for the work.

I would suggest a fellow who I'm doing a website for right now: in addition to doing a lot of custom work he's also been a full-time gunsmithing instructor at a local college (he does it part-time now). He also has a full-service gun shop, so if he doesn't have the sights you want I'm sure he could get them. He specializes in 1911s and the AR platform, I believe (he has another gunsmith working for him doing general repair work).
His name is Len and his email address is "oldlodge" and the provider ("@") is "swva.net". He's a solid guy and has a good name in our small town here in the hills of Virginia. Tell him his web designer referred you - I doubt it will get you a better price, but he'll be amused.

If you wanted night sights, Trijicon would do it if you sent your slide to them.

Heinie or Novak.
Also contact Brownells, they do offer gunsmith services if I recall...

Not knowing where you are, I can't off the name of any of the gunsmiths I'm aware of... but I can steer you if you're in AZ or CT.

I could help you in Central Florida, but not "In position, on target..."

Who made the firearm? I ask because I have seen examples in where the manufacturer is actually cheaper then a regular smiff.
