    Ruger SR1911..Whats your thoughts

I have been thinking about purchasing a 1911 to add to my collection. I have the ruger SR40C as my carry and love it so I am naturally attracted to the Ruger SR1911. I have never owned a 1911 but have shot a few of them but have never been abel to shoot the Ruger. I would like to know if the Ruger has had any major problems or if any of you who own one or have shot one what yout thoughts are on it.

I own one and I am very happy with it. Great value for the price. Over 500 flawless rounds. Very accurate and sweet shooter.

I handled one the other day and the fit and finish is very impressive for the price point. I would not be ashamed to own one. There is a reason they are hard to find right now.

SR1911 is a tremendous firearm for the money. Possibly the best 'middle class' 1911 available for that money.

I don't think I have heard a discouraging word other than they are in short supply.

The SR19111 is next on my list.

If I ever buy a 1911, the SR1911 will be it.

It is setup perfect and the price point is pretty much untouchable.

They could increase production a 100x and still sell every single one.

Davidson MSRP is $599 on the Ruger 1911.....my local GS had one priced at $850 and sold it while I was in the store....I'll wait until demand and price gouging subside.

For the money it is nice. You could do a lot worse for the money. Also, it is a Ruger so you really can not go wrong.

I have one with 500 rounds through and it has been 100% reliable since day one. They are a LOT of bang for the buck and on par with the sa and other 1911's I've compared with it. (Dare I say colt too) I was actually in my lgs right before they dropped everywhere and I was looking at a kimber when he said let me show you something awesome....and there it was. They accidentally got a double shipment and I believe I was $600 otd. I am so glad i listened to my buddy!

If I ever get the chance to get a 1911, the SR1911 might be it, due to the nice price.

If I am ever able to find one I will own it. All the LGS have a waiting list for them.
