Not true. The gun on your side is better than the one in the safe.

the gun in your hand is better than teh one in your safe....

I concur...it's definitely training......US Navy seals train to know how to operate almost any weapon....so...it is definitely the training that is better than the weapon....heck..if your out of ammo..you can always use it as a club when you run out of ammo...

Define 'better' whilst I go about my business.

If you can put a couple of the little cone shaped copper things into center mass in a hurry when you absolutely, positively have to to save your life......your gun is good enough.

Kimbers are the guns you show your friends....Glocks are the ones you show your enemies.

It is probably true. There is a reason so many professionals choose Glock.

I recieve many Gun magazines and I agree with one quote in a advertisement. Amateurs talk hardware and pros talk training. Is there room for product debate ?, yes. Is there a answer that will put this to bed ?, No. With most of the current firearm companies a consumer will get a product that can outperform and outlast them. There are exceptions, but most of us recognize them and accept them for what they are. I can take any firearm and create a FTF, FTE, and a list of problems if I try. Let me finish by saying that MY GUN IS BETTER THAN YOURS. You just have to take my word for it.
I'm an amateur, not a pro. I don't paid for any of this. I guess I can talk about hardware with the other amateurs here all I want.

As most everyone else has said, it's the person behind the gun in most cases. There are some out there that are poorly designed and built (Jennings, Bryco and a few others). When it comes to those makes, "My slingshot is better than your gun!"

This idea clearly needs to catch on. I know too many people who take better care of the firearm than they do the operator.
