Cheap but decent guns such as Bersa, Taurus, keltec, and anything similar.

    Small CCW firearms.

    9mm and 22lr.

Very sound, thoughtful advice above. As mentioned, way too many considerations to factor in, but here's a crack at a pool of well-regarded firearms at varying price points that could form the foundation of a store's inventory:

    -Glock 17
    -Glock 19
    -Glock 26
    -Glock 22
    -Glock 23
    -Glock 27
-Some .45 1911's (I know little of 1911's, but the Dan Wessons and Springfields seem to be well-liked)
    -Beretta 92fs
    -M&P9
    -M&P9c
    -M&P40
    -M&P40c
    -CZ75b
    -M&P45
    -M&P45c
    -Ruger LCP
    -Ruger LC9
    -H&K P30 .40
    -H&K P30 9
    -H&K 45
    -H&K 45c
    -H&K P2000sk 9
    -H&K P2000sk .40
    -Kahr PM9
    -Kahr CM9
    -Sig P226 9
    -Sig P226 .40
    -Sig P229 9
    -Sig P229 .40
    -Walther PPS 9
    -Walther PPS .40
    -S&W .38 J-Frames
    -S&W .357 K-Frames
    -S&W .44 N-Frames
    -Ruger LCR
    -Ruger SP-101
    -Ruger GP-100
    -Ruger Redhawk

That's about 40 right there, and that's just scratching the surface really. The above is just a list of handguns that are generally considered to be quality, reliable sidearms. Based on my admittedly limited experience compared to many around here, I think most customers could pick at least one handgun that fits their wants/needs from the above list and be happy with their purchase.

EDIT: Forgot to mention any .22LR pistols, so you can add items like the Ruger MKIII, CZ Kadet conversion kit, Walther P22. Also forgot the .45ACP Glock family.
    Good list... No Taurus!

Asortment of used guns, make sure to have shot guns, rifles and hand guns ( both revolvers and auto loading).
I would have plenty of Rugers,Glocks and Smithys. Once he gets the business going he could add the Kimbers, H&Ks and Sigs

Funny that it seems that everyone hates Taurus, but yet they sell more handguns to the USA than any other company even Glock. So they must be doing something right. God Bless

From a business perspective, it isn't about what you like but about what you can sell and make a good margin on.

    Bingo!

I can tell you from my own experience, in my locale, the guns that are selling fast this week:

Bodyguard .380, LC9, Kimber, CZ P-01, M&Ps, 642, 442, Mosin Nagant 91-30, used shotguns, Colt and Daniel Defense ARs, WASR AKs,

It will be different some other week or in some other location.

The top 40 sellers are a long way from the top 40 guns. And it all goes back to your application. If I was an Ice-Road trucker, then give me a 44 Mag. Now if I was a punk in the ghetto, my choice would be a 9 shot 22 revolver.

What you are really looking for is a gun that fits your needs. If you aren't a 'twice a month range shooter' - then skip the involved semi autos. A guy who hits the range twice a year should go for safety and simplicity.
