Thanks, I did not know that. Would not buy either. I try to buy U.S. manufactured products.

Springfield that not even a race IMO
I will reply to the POLL, not the POST (which is still confusing to me). I don't carry more than one gun at a time. So I'll choose the Kahrs, small and smaller. Thanks!

I'd take the springfields; don't like what Kahrs' money ends up.
I chose the XDS. I already have a XD9 subcompact, so they would complement it nicely. I also forgot about the whole the whole Unification Church deal with Kahr, but that reinforces my vote for the XDS.

the xds is on my short wish list with that said I bought a 8400 in .338 federal today... Pictures to come tomorrow held it, fondeled it had to have it bought it over the phone after hageling the price some... hopefully shooting it tomorrow too..

I still have no idea why I'm picking two guns...
Color me confused.
I like the Croatian tactical Springies more than Moonie-supporting Kahrs. I just sold my Kahr CW45 to fund a 1911. Got tired of people asking "Still got your Kahr?", and me looking at them like a dog that just heard a high-pitched noise, and responding "How do you think I got here?". Idiodic name for a gun.
Since the two (different) Kahrs were parenthesized together, and the XDS in 9mm has not (AFAIK) been announced yet, I had to assume you were talking about a .45 XDS and some unspecified Springfield 9mm. No problem with reading skills there. Maybe a lack of clarity in the question?
It's all good!
I still think the question is pretty hard to answer, though. The two different-sized Kahrs give you a bit more 'versatility', but two identical XDS's (assuming the 9mm really comes out, and we know it will) gives you parts interchangeability/spares.
Guess the best answer is, get what you want!
At our club we have a few that shoot the khars and xd pistols. And the xd's run like clockwork and I have the xdsc and Im used to them. That said I will lean to the xds
I refuse to play. So there

The only "confirmation" so far is a vaguely worded email floating around the internet, purportedly from a customer service rep at Springfield, stating "Eventually we hope to have the XD(s) in 9M and .40 cal but it is not available at this time."
Is it likely that a 9mm XDS will be developed? Of course, given that other manufacturers have experience much success with similar products. However, it's premature to say "yes it's coming". Conjecture =/= fact.
