Good carry for the money
A friend of mine has recently purchased a Baretta PX4 Storm Compact. So naturally I had to try it out.
Personally, I'm not a fan of what the gun looks like...big fan of the 92FS...however the price is attractive.
After shooting this pistol, I was hooked. Still not a fan of it's look...but it shot like a dream. Although it's a compact, it fit snuggly in my hands and the single action pull was crisp.
One day I will probably buy one of these for my self for summer carry. I highly recommend this pistol.

there are a great many to choose from. as needs your life style, style of dress, percieved need re where you will be going and,
though one should not knowingly go into danger cause you have a gun...there is the aspect of--thiings do happen and what may
i reasonably be called upon as needs my safe keeping.
and in a way, there are too many to choose from in the sense that if you have say, 3 to choose from you will work with each,
choose what comes closest to meeting your needs and than work long and hard with that item. you may even be suprised to find that
the long periods of work have shown that the item is satisfactory in all mannors that truely matter.
but if ou have a virtually endless number to choose from, the time spent on each one, while looking for that glass slipper fit...
well, you may miss on the one you had that had the best potential while trying to find the one that may be perfect.
and as you age and your requirments and abilities change, so will what is perfect for you.
so are you going to start over seeking perfection or start working with what you have to be the best you can be with it?

the Baretta PX4 Storm Compact is a good gun made by a good company. reasonably priced and if it fits your needs
its a good purchase.
as i've noticed about others--that they do not always do as i think they will nor often as they say they will.
this not only makes life interesting, it makes it dangerous too.

Thats great to hear! A friend of mine asked to help on choosing an EDC gun and I pointed him to that same gun.

+1 on the storm being a good shooter...
A couple of 'cons' however.. 1) that slide mounted safety just doesn't work for me and 2) it really hasn't been a huge seller so far, so after-market accessories (holsters, etc) are somewhat limited... but that may change :)
I did find it to be very comfortable and I kinda like the way it looks :)

The Smith & Wesson M&P is what I have (got it used with 4 mags for $460). I love it and no external safeties to be messing with. I have the full size 45 but the compact versions are comparable to the PX4 in size.

Very nice. I have shot the M&P 45 full size and the M&P 9mm compact. Very nice pistols.

I also own a PX4 Storm compact and its job is to protect my home at night. I've concealed carried it before when I know I'm going into a rough part of town (I know, crime is everywhere) and I feel more comfort knowing I've got 15 rounds versus 6+1 in my Sig P238. The Beretta is a sweet shooter and ultra reliable, but probably not the best primary carry weapon because of its weight. It can be done, but just a tad too uncomfortable for me to primary carry.

I like the full size px4. Nothing real special, but a solid pistol.

I agree. I have looked into trying out the full size in. 40.
