    Ammo recommendation

Hey everyone. I have been waiting all weekend to go shoot the new Glock 23 I picked up on Friday. I finally have the time to go and do it tomorrow.

Does anyone have any .40 cal ammo that they recommend for the range that isn't crazy expensive? I know there are bad brands that you stay away from, so that kind of advice would be great.

    Thanks!

WWB or Federal, both at your friendly neighborhood Wally World. Or check out freedommunitions.com if you want to order some in bulk.

See what www.sgammo.com has. Great place to get ammo.

I prefer to order ammo online for a cheaper price, but sometimes get range ammo at WalMart. My preferred LGS used to have ok prices on SD ammo, but this year prices have doubled. My last order was from SGAmmo.

You might want to decide what bullet weight you want to carry with. Then buy whatever you can of that weight at a good price for practice. I kind of like the lighter weights with faster velocity (and greater paper muzzle energy numbers).

Well since you've waited until the last minute to ask, ordering on line and getting it in time to shoot tomorrow is out of the question.
Inexpensive good quality target ammo would be either Winchester White Box, or Federal Champion. Both are normally available at Walmart, along with Remington although Remington tends to be pricier than the others.

Winchester White Box from Walmart will do. Box of 100 runs around $35 or so. I believe they are 180GR. Thats what I use to shoot at the range.

I carry Federal Hydra Shoks and Winchester PDX1s for SD. Both 165GR JHPs.

Winchester white box, Remington UMC, Federal Champion all usually available at wal-mart. Just avoid non-jacketed bullets.

I have never had any problems with CCI Blazer Aluminum cased. Also never had a problem with Wolf.

Another vote for SGAmmo.com | Family Owned and Operated, Stillwater Oklahoma . If you need something now, Wally World will do in a pinch. Sometimes you can catch a deal at Dick's Sporting Goods as well.
