    New Kimber Solo Photos

Thought I'd put up a few photos of my new Solo STS, with custom Rosewood grips by SGM Grips. The grips add just a little bit of thickness over the stock grips, and increase my grip on the weapon, especially during rapid fire. Plus, they lood good lol.
    Weapon has been cleared.

I suppose so. I just walked into the shooting range/gun shop here in Albuquerque, and it was in the display case. Fits my needs perfectly: very small and easy to conceal, fires 9mm round, and great trigger.

As an aside, I had a S&W Bodyguard 380, but I have lost ALL faith in that weapon. After only 15 rounds fired at the range, the firing pin SNAPPED in half. Would not EVER feel comfortable carrying a weapon with such poorly manufactured parts, so I sold it. Plus, the trigger was atrocious (although better than the Kel-tec's and LCP's, lol). PLUS, the .380 is pretty wimpy, in my opinion.

$715 out the door; $669 base, then sales tax.
So far, worth every $715. Yes, it's 2x as much as an LC9 or Kel-tec, and 40% more than a Kahr, but it's all metal. To me, that means something.

That's better than I thought. I would never be interested in a Kel-tec or LC9. If I got a Kahr, it would be an MK9.

Nice SOLO and choice of ammo!

I carry the DT TAC-XP in my 9mms and .357 SIG.

The 115 gr. 9mm BARNES X bullet has documented dynamic stops by both police and cww holders.

What's a good stopper in 9mm is only better pushed to .357 SIG velocities.

It could be the best technology for a bullet these days in both handguns and rifles.

    Expensive, but very effective.

Like you, I have more trust in the 9mm for defensive use over the .380, but others might
    disagree.

You are well armed my friend.

The Solo is a nice little pistol. Wish I could financially get one.

Hah, yeah. I had to sell my BG 380, Taurus PT740, and MAverick 88 to get it lol.
    But it's been worth it.

I agree. It might be light at 115gr, but copper is much harder than lead/copper combos, and so can penetrate similarly to a 124gr. Plus, it tends to expand through bone, which most other JHPs have trouble doing.

At some point Kimber stopped production of the Solo until they could work out the bugs.
It appears they are once again shipping them.
Does anyone know where the serial numbers start, post redesign.
