What Is Too Much For Handgun

I have 2 guns one is an XD40sc cost 520.00 all in and a Kimber ultra carry SS cost 840.00 all in. One of my Friend has a Bersa thunder 380 cost about 280 to 300 and a bersa thunder compact 45 about 350.00. He tells me he would never pay what i paid for my kimber for a hand gun. i think my kimber is one of the very best 1911 made. i was wondering what people might pay for a gun. Also seen the new kimber Aegis II in the Handguns magzine i guess mt friend will not like this either cause that just may be my next gun.

I had an HK that went over the $1k mark - I'm never doing that again. $500 is my ceiling for a handgun; I'm a happy camper with my Glock 30.

I was fortunate to pick up a new Colt CCO for $540 a few years back at a local gun store.

I bought a 24k Desert Eagle for my wife (hoping she'd come around to shooting) a few years back and paid 1200.00.... It has never been fired, now that's a waste of money...;o)
Hoping that my son can use it to trade on something he likes when he graduates college....
If I could afford it, I'd love to have a new Wilson, Les Baer or Ed Brown.....
    Maybe one day.....

I don't know - what is your life or the life of your loved ones worth? Hard to put a price on it.

How much is your life or the lives of you friends and loved ones worth. That should tell you what the value of a "quality" pistol is.

    BTW-A Bersa .380acp goes for $219.00 where I live.

It's the difference between Ford or Chevy and Mercedes or BMW. You get what you pay for, generally, so the question is if the "extra" you're getting for the price something you want.

Ford will get the job done; I drive a Ford.

Some people think paying for a Mercedes is worth it; my wife drives Mercedes.

Some people's price point for handguns is a Hi-Point, some people it's Glock, some people it's Sig, some people it's Wilson Custom or Les Baer.

    My price point is Sig.

I buy what I can afford and don't give a hoot what anybody else would or wouldn't buy.

    Same here JW.

Some of this is down to what we ''want'' - and if that ''want'' has a high price tag, then we'll pay it if the cash can be found.

My 226 ST was IIRC, with a spare mag thrown in close to $900 and of course I went ''right up there'' with the R9. It is perfectly possible to hold to a $500 max - plenty of good guns to choose from but now and again - other things call!!

Get what works, is reliable, makes you happy - and still allows for the next ammo purchase

I am perfectly willing to spend 1600 on a Yost or RRA or Brown 1911. In fact, I'm saving up to do just that.
I'll take a .45 and a large side of JHPs, please.

    Its all relative.

If I want it, Im going to get it.

The only difference is how long it takes to come up with the funds.

Price isn't important as long as what I buy fits and aums right.
