    Glock 23 Recoil Spring Placement?

    this is my first glock and WOW! I have noticed durring feild stripping that there are two notches on the barrel where the recoil spring can be placed. which one does the recoil spring go in? theres a flat notch and a rounded notch?

    the rounded notch

    edit : if its not on the right one the slide won't go on right

    thanks i figured that. one more question. i went to the range the other day and it shot perfect except one time on my last round the slide was open like the mag was empty however it was not? this was one issue out of 200 rounds? any ideas there?

    You may have hit the slide stop lever if you have a high, thumbs forward grip. Or maybe a bad spring in the magazine.
