Thumbs up Fired my new Kimber today.

I finally picked up yesterday, a Kimber stainless compact ll .45 ACP.
Officers frame with a 4" slide.
SO! today at lunch, I traipsed off the my local indoor range, about 3 miles from my place of employment to try it out. I'ver read many stories about the "break in period" and read the notice in the owners manual. Well, so much for that. I put 112 rounds through it in a little over 1/2 hour. 50 rds, 230 grain FMJ, 4.8 grains BE, 50 rds, 200 grain LSWC over 4.5 grains BE and 12 rds Federal 230 grain Hydroshock, frequently mixed. Not a hiccup, nada, nuttin. Shoots pretty much where it looks, maybe 2" left at 50 ft. With the 200 lswc, I shot a single ragged hole about 2" dia with 21 rds. Not too shabby for indoor and poor light for good sight alignment.
This weekend, I'll install the Meprolight night sights and soon will purchase two Tripp Research 7 rd magazines for it.
When my finances have recovered, I will install CT laser grips like my full size 1911 and Taurus Titanium M85 have.

Recoil was a bit worse than my full size 1911, but not as sharp or uncomfortable as the Titanium Taurus with +P 125 grain ammo.
    Damn! I think I have a keeper!
When I figure out how to post a photo, I will.

    Roger (for a day)

Good deal....I got a Kimber Combat Carry (no kidding), which is a series 1 compact with an alloy frame....it's identical to the latter Compact CDP and CDP II. Great gun. You'll enjoy that Kimber for sure.....

Kimbers are good guns. I have a Kimber Ultra carry ss and love it. Thinking about getting the new 9mm Ultra carry. Shoot good and have fun.
