New S&W Shield is a go

Just picked up a Shield Saturday and just came back from my second trip to the range.

Sunday I found that it would feed anything without a hiccup (even the 145 grn Winchester stuff that a lot of guns donít really like).

Today I tried my preferred ammo, Hornady Critical Defense, with no problem. I also shot a magazine full of Remington Golden Saper, +P, 124 grn through it. Did not even notice the difference between standard loadings and this +P stuff as far as recoil goes. (Donít really plan on carrying or shooting a lot of +P, but just wanted to try it out.)

Shot up a lot of ball ammo with absolutely no problems.

Between Sunday and today at the range, I feel comfortable carrying this gun. This thing is really great.

Posted some pictures of the target and gun (at least I am trying to).

    Just some thoughts,

    Trooper Joe

All the reviews I have seen so far have been really positive. Sounds like S&W has a winner on its hands.

Very cool. I rented one Saturday and managed to track one down yesterday. I'll go shoot mine this weekend. I called S&W and backordered 2 mags. I was told that they should ship in 2 weeks. (they removed them from the website to buy online - ya gotta call).

I will probably sell my Kahr PM9 w/ nightsights if all goes well at the range

Seems like the shields are as good quality as the full size. Good to hear!

Our LGS is getting these in at least weekly in shipments of 15 or 20. They sell out the same day as arrival and they have an ongoing waiting list.

The Hornady FTX critical defense load should be very sweet in one.

No chance to handle a SHIELD, but I'm crossing my fingers.
