If you take any one piece of advise, take Lima's! She's is, IMO, spot on. How would you feel if your wife bought a gun and said "this is what is best for you to carry"? My wife has been in the process of finding her "right" gun for months. She has shot light snubbies, 1911, Kel-Tec 40, Ruger P94(9mm), and a Beretta Tomcat. She also shot my 4in Taurus .357 loaded with .38+p as it stays at the house at all times. Her favorite was the Ruger P94. To Lima's experience, it is a mid-size 9mm. These were her first experiences in handguns to get a feel of different sizes, types, and calibers. She knows that this is her decision so we are planning a range trip to rent various guns. I'm staying out of it except to "unbiasedly" answer questions.

If she likes the G19, get a second one or give her yours and go gun shopping for yourself. That sounds like a win win to me.

Woman has a problem with anything mechanical and that includes guns. IF you are not raised with guns around and shoot them woman will not be comfortable shooting large cal guns. I find starting them off with 22's makes it fun and donít scare them

My wife's favorite gun is her new Ruger .357 magnum Vaquero. Before that it was her S&W .38 special Airweight. Go figure. She's 5' 2" and 130 lbs. I don't much like shooting the aidweight at all.

My first was a XD9SC. I learned to shoot with this gun. Then, I added a Walther .22. That lasted about 2 months - wimpy. Then, I added a BG .380 because I was supposed to (lightweight, easy to conceal). Then, I added a SA 1911.45 full size because I wanted to. The .380 will be history when the XDSlim.45 comes out. Hubby stole my 1911. So, with great sadness, because it was my first, I am trading in the XD9SC for a XDM.45 4.5". All within 18 months.

The moral of the story: I am woman and I am fickle. But, seriously, I am moving up to .45 and dropping those cute .380's and .22's because of many of the reasons mentioned above.

It's a journey with twists and turns. And, never-ending.

My wife absolutely hates handguns and refuses to go shoot. So, I've given up after all these years. At least I get to buy my toys, though.

My Wife? Ruger SP-101 2" with .38 LWC. Although it has the C/T grps, she shoots it better without the laser.

My wife (Pinklady) likes to carry the LCP, but she likes shooting the Glock 26, Glock 19, Springfield XD9sc, Kahr PM9 and CW9, and her S&W 60 (no dash).

The Mrs prefers to shoot her Glenfield Mdl 60 .22 rifle and her M&P 9c.

My wife likes my Full Size M&P 45 (as do I). She currently has a S&W Sigma SW9F which has been shipped off to S&W for some issues it was having. She used to have a Kel-Tec PF9 but it hurt her hand. The SW9F is full size so she likes it a lot better but we'll be looking to get her an M&P9c or a M&P Shield soon (as soon as money allows).

I am worried though, I keep finding post-it flags on Kimber ads in my magazines
