X S sight for Shield: BIG or regular?

I have the regular XS dot on my LCR and wonder if my Shield would do better with the BIG dot. Who has which and please comment before I get the least effective of the two.. Thanks.

Don't want to stay home, so guess I'll go BIG!
P.S. Any other intelligent responses will be greatly appreciated!

My opinion, if the M&P Shield is for CC Defensive purposes then go BIG, that way ou can get as fast as possible aquisition of the sights. If for just a range gun, use the stock sights or go for the small one. God Bless

Thanks, guys! Went to a video and did decide to go BIG dot. Appreciate your input.

That's absolutely untrue. The white dot/tritium insert on the front sight of a set of Big Dot XS sights is EXCELLENT for quick, close-in shooting. Acquire the front sight (it's QUICK)...and press... Follow the bouncing ball.

Is the rear sight the same for the standard and big dot? It would be nice to go big if I wanted to.

If you're using your gun for gunfighting and self defense = Big Dots

If you're using your gun for target shooting = Regular

I have Big Dots on my XD9sc.

Am going to try out the Trijicon HD's for my M&P9 and M&P Shield.

I'd also consider the Trijicon HD sights.

Yes, the rear sight with the vertical tritium insert is the same. Just align the front sight "bouncing ball" with the bottom of the rear sight "V" to "dot the I" and you're all set. VERY fast sights.

Go for the Big Dot, Philly Boy. You already stayed home with your LCR because you didn't have a choice.

Personally I do not see any practical reason for the existence of the small dot with the XS express handgun sights.
If its a fightin gun,go with the big dot,
If its a range/target gun,go with a traditional post and notch.

Very well put. The sights are not for paper punching. Go to a range with popup targets , moving ones or at about 15 yards and see how many A hits you can get in 3 seconds. Doing that was what made me a believer.
