Which typical CC/OC gun looks most intimidating?

    A fun little diversion.

I was looking at the image in this thread A well dressed Wal-Mart shopper...... and thinking how sweet that 1911 looked. That got me wondering.

What do you think is the most intimidating weapon available for CC or OC? I'm not looking for unrealistic guns like a Desert Eagle .50 caliber or a bazooka but guns that are typically carried by people.

So which gun if exposed or drawn in SD would have the most intimidating affect? Which one would make little old ladies faint from fright, BGs turn tail and run and make the ladies look up to you?

Note that there is also a serious side to this as no one wants to be laughed at when they draw.

Looking at the muzzle of ANY gun is intimidating no matter what size or caliber.

    That's difficult.

.357mag is pretty scary (if it's the right one- like a blued long[ish] barreled Python).

1911 stands well on it's own- hard to look a gun with that reputation in the eye.

.44mag stands about the same as the .357mag- gotta have the 'right' one.

What I think would really make me want to back up a little is someone pulling an old Peacemaker in .45Colt. That, in my opinion, is what would really make people want to leave the area.

I think most people that don't know squat about guns would be intimidated by a long barrel revolver like a S&W L or N frame with 6" barrel or longer

OC you need a Desert Eagle 50AE....gold plated best, chrome plated better, blued good. CC? What's going to look intimidating CC? Best be nothing to my thinking.

A full sized .357 mag revolver with 4'' fully shrouded barrel looks pretty tough to me. I think revolvers with shorter fat stubby barrels look more intimidating than the 6'' and longer variations.

Anything with a laser...for that "Terminator" look.

Or, maybe for the "Borg" look -

I agree. I never want to be looking down the business end of any gun - BG or LEO.

But that wasn't in the spirit of the question. I really think a cocked and locked 1911 really has a look that means business. I was wondering what others considered intimidating.

To tell the truth....you need to ask a sheep or a perp as to what actually looks intimidating. You're asking the wrong crowd. I'm not easily intimidated by anything and maybe more willing to die than most. Just FYI.

Yes but not half as intimidating as your avatar. Is that your dog? What kind is it?
