Give me some Gun and Holster suggestions for my next CCW...

Ok looking at buying a new gun:) Wanna see what you guys got for me:)
    I am 5 10 and weigh 150, skinny:)

Gun- Would prefer to stay under $600, but can swing a littler higher (not much).
    Holster $60-$150

Suggestions? No Glocks (got two :o) ), No .380 or .22 Calibers
    Everything else welcome:)

Suggestions? Been looking at a Sig or possible a Wheel-Gun,

    BTW pics would be great:)

    Thanks:)

I am down the same path you are. I was hell bent on a wheel gun. Ballistics of a .38 special is like a 9MM from my searches. I shot a J frame, .357 is a big punch. I am look at the 938 or the XDS.

Hmm, under 600. Well, here's my suggestion. I'm 5' 11" and 160 pounds, so I am pretty much the same build as you.

When I'm not at work (I have to carry a tiny .380 pocket pistol then) I carry a Bersa Thunder 9 UC Pro. $429 or there about. All metal construction, tenifer treated for corrosion resistance like Glocks, renowned for reliability, and hyper accurate with polygonal barrel rifling. Plus it just feels great in the hand! Check out other owners...we all love our Bersas. They come in 9, 40, and 45 calibers. All the same size. I'm not sure of the 40 and 45's capacities, but the 9 holds 13+1.

I carry it in this Tagua holster ($45 on ebay) but there are many, many other options available.

I also carry a Colt 1911 which I also highly recommend but it's over $600. Worth the price though.

Bersas are such a great buy because from what I hear, the Argentinian exchange rate is very favorable. These guns are used by the Argentinian armed forces and law enforcement, so they're meant to take a pounding and keep coming back for more. Check 'em out.

An intruder will be incapacitated by tear gas or oven spray, but if shot with a .357 Magnum will get angry and kill you.

XDm .45 3.8" in Hopp Custom Leather, convertable and S & W 649 .357 2" in SideGuard Holster, iwp. I carry the XDm most of the time but resort to the 649 in dress clothes. All within your price range.

I like the Glocks, and every time I hold a XD, I love it, but never buy it... How much are the XDm .45 with 3.8 going for nowadays?

sp101 with 2 1/4" barrel chambered for 357 mag. Carry it in a UBG canute if you prefer IWB or UBG bonneville if you prefer OWB. The sp101 hides very well, and handles 357 mag loads really well if you like that kind of thing. It absolutely eats up 38sp +P loads. Everyone should have one. It is not a good pocket carry gun as it is too heavy. But, I wouldn't trade mine for any pocket capable wheel gun.

CW9 is good, I carry one lots; but my advice is to get a CZ-75. The B model can be carried cocked and locked like a 1911, and the D model offers a decocker. 15+1 capacity, priced around $500, and an easy shooter.

You didn't give a lot of info on likes or requirements, so here goes two of my favorites.

Walther WAP10006 PPS Standard 9mm 3.2" 6+1 Polymer Grip Blac $509.00 SHIPS FREE

    Smith & Wesson 638 .38 Spl+P 1-7/8" (Bodyguard) $364.00 SHIPS FREE

Well under budget so you can afford any holster you want.

For a wheelgun, I suggest a SP101 and a Mr. Softy holster from High Noon.

For a polymer, non-glock, a M&P pistol with DCAEK. And an archangel holster from Dale Fricke.

Any of the classic Sigs would be great, IMO.

    Two Sig possibilities...

You mentioned a Sig interest. Here are two possibles - A Sig P239 in 9mm and a DeSantis pancake holster, and a Sig P229 in .40 with a Kramer holster. Both are reliable and accurate, but the P229 gives you more shots (12+1) with a wider gun. The P239 is more slender and concealable with 8+1 rounds.

You didn't say if you preferred metal or plastic. My vote would be for the CZ75 P-01.
