Is there a cure for the Kahr mags that won't sit flush?

I looked at a Sig P290 over the last couple of days. I declined to trade my PM9 for one, but in my research, I've found that my Kahr PM9 "flush" factory mag really isn't. And wouldn't you know it; after owning this gun for two years, now it bugs me.

So does anyone have the solution? Aftermarket mag or whatnot? I really don't care to try any at-home gunsmithing, but I would prefer a flush-seated mag.

    Suggestions?

I don't think there is a cure......I've even seen Utube videos where they compare the fit and finish of the Sig P290 to a Kahr PM9.......... I don't own either now. Had a P380 once that I had to sell because it was never reliable. Sold the Kahr.....still have my two Sigs.

try to find someone who can add about 3/32" to the bottom of your grip. epoxy, whatever. ask Robar in AZ, who does frame work on Glocks.

I've done some research into it and I have yet to find a solution. You can put a plastic base plate from a CW9 on the PM/CM9 mags with takes care of the gap but it also extends the mag a bit. Some people like this as it allows them to get a bit of their pinky on the grip. Kahr has stated that the gap is intentional so that if there is any debris or something on the baseplate that the mag will still seat. Not entirely sure I believe that though...

Black magic marker ??? No really, how about coloring the silver part of the bottom of the magazine black to make it less obvious ?? I always thought of doing that to my ALL Black DLC PM9. God Bless

I actually prefer a little bit sticking out, makes reloading quicker/more likely to seat properly.

Guys, I couldn't care less about the look of it. The point is that this is a concealment weapon, and if the mag would sit flush, then it would reduce the grip footprint by about 1/8 of an inch.

I must not be explaining this very well. I want to actually reduce the length of the magazine, for lack of better terminology.

    Look at this:

The factory "flush" magazine is fully seated, but look at the gap. I don't care about making it look better; I want it to sit flush. This is a common problem with Kahr magazines, but is there a fix? Or, is there an aftermarket mag that will sit flush and is reliable?

I would suggest you poke around over at Kahrtalk.

I have no knowledge of aftermarket mags for the Kahr pistols, so I have no comment there.

I would not recommend monkeying with the Kahr mags to "make" them shorter. The mags are the weak link in the Kahr design as it is - messing around with them will likely only result in issues. If that 1/8 of an inch really makes a difference in concealment, maybe you need a LCP...

LCP? Then he goes from the annoyance of having the mag stick out a little to a crappy trigger. I know which one would bother me more...
