    What's Up with the CARACAL??

Have been reading about the above gun and have seen some videos about it. Does anyone have experience with this gun? I understand that the designer of the Steyer M40(?) is at least one of the men behind the Caracal. Info.? Thanks.

Last time I was in the LGS, they had one. Stop by, it might still be there.

It felt pretty good in the hand, I'm not sold on the quick acquisition sights. But I'd like to shoot one.

Don't know Bo Diddly about them, other than they are supposed to be well made pistols.

Just bought one today, after trying to decide between a Gen4 G19,FNS-9,Walther PPQ and the CZ P07 for a few months.I had studied all of them and had shot the CZ,PPQ and Gen 4 G19.After fondling all of them today(except for FNS-9),just as the counter guy started looking disgruntled I tried the Caracal C.The trigger is just as good if not better than the PPQ.The bore axis is the lowest out of all of them, and to me had the best ergonomics(yes even better than the PPQ and CZ).It also seems it would conceal better than the rest.
If you don't like the idea of buying a UAE product, don't fondle or dryfire one and definitly don't rent one.new Caracal 008.JPGnew Caracal 005.JPG
I put 250 pleasing rounds through it today.

Seriously that's the only thing I'm afraid of.If they don't catch on,parts and service would be hard to come by.

45MINK: What's up with the SIGFORUM? Tried to sign-up one week ago and they still haven't processed it! On the other hand, this forum was instantaneous!! Is this FORUM the BEST, or what??

they are great guns from an even greater designer but the whole arab connotation is holding them back. and having UAE stamped on the side will hinder it big time here in the states. there is a lot of money backing it and its the UAE service pistol now. they acquired Merkel a few years back and also setup pistol production in Germany in addition to UAE. what they should have done is keep the sheiks out of the publicity photos and setup production solely in Germany after Merkel was bought. a German Caracal would be a hit,an arab one not so much.
