    Cobra shadow VS S&W 442 ??????????

It's the same exact gun from what I can see from the exploded view but have never shot the Shadow but have carried a 442 for a little while a couple of years ago. My wife found the Shadow online and the price compared to the Smith is much cheaper so I was just wondering if anyone owns a Shadow by Cobra Enterprises or has ever shot one ? If you have I'd like to hear from you.

I've handled and shot other cobra guns, just not this one.

They're a cheap knockoff brand. I wouldn't give a hundred bucks for one.

If I were you, I would choose the 442. I have one and never an issue. The finish will eventually ware and if that is a problem, then the 642. Retained value counts for a lot. You just about always sell a S&W snubbie for what you have invested in it.

Rolex or Rollex... whats the difference.

Stay away from the Cobra. Or if you really have a hundred bucks to throw away, donate it to charity instead.

I've had the good fortune to avoid going the cheap knock-offs in my firearms acquisitions while observing others who have taken that route come to grief. I just saw a new Cobra Shadow last week and a Taurus looks and feels good by comparison. I loathe Taurus. This Shadow revolver resembles a Smith & Wesson Centennial if seen at a distance or if one crosses his eyes before looking directly at it. It isn't the same thing. I have a Smith & Wesson Model 642 and the difference in the action feel is startling. The particular Shadow I saw was brand new and it also exhibited a disappointing amount of cylinder end-shake.

i have purchased their derringers, and i can say they are pretty poor quality. I have not handled the revolver, but i would not risk trying to beat the quality and reliability of the Smith. Just my 2 cents. bunker

Get the Smith...not even a question about it in my book.
