    What's On Your Nightstand

I'm just curious as to what most people on the forum choose to keep close by in the night. Here is what I go with every night. I don't have anyone in the house with me, so I didn't feel the need for a safe.

From now on (in addition to the shotgun) it'll be this.

Smith and Wesson Model 13 in nickel, loaded with Speer Gold Dot 135 gr .357 Magnum rounds.

An intruder will be incapacitated by tear gas or oven spray, but if shot with a .357 Magnum will get angry and kill you.

Glock 19 with a light. That's only there to get me the 20 or so feet to my Remington 870.

I have an alarm clock and the most recent issue of golf digest. I find that golf puts me to sleep fast but reading about golf puts me to sleep even faster.

The gun that is on my nightstand is also the same gun that is on the cover of my book--my beloved 2 1/2" Smith & Wesson Model 19. I love that gun so much that I'm even having a custom paddle holster made for it so I can (more comfortably) carry it now and then.

Normal carry is either a high-capacity 9mm that I carried years ago in LE or a 1911. But deep down inside, I'm a wheelgun man through and through, and I do love my Model 19.
