    Magazine question for Kimber owners:

Given the choice, would you go with a Wilson Combat magazine or the Kimpro TAC-MAG magazine for your Kimber ?

Just curious to hear opinions on each. I currently use Wilson Combat mags, found a Kimpro TAC-MAG on e-bay for a good price and I am impressed with the quality.

just knowing of Kimber's rep with factory mags, I'd probally stick with the Wilsons. I've never had a Wilson fail, can't say the same for Kimber thier guns rock but the mags suck (IMHO)

Check out Heartland Sprotmans Supply on Ebay.

decent prices on multiple Wilson mags

My experience with Kimber mags and Wilson Combat mags has been positive to date, no problems with either. I own two Kimbers and use both brands of mags in them.

One of my mags is a Kimber Tac Pro-0 problems. I'd say if it's a good price, buy it.
Wilson is the standard by which the other mags are judged.

BTW-I just received my Kimber back from the factory (again), throated, polished, bored and a new slide and tune, it finally works the way it should. Note to Kimber-Thanks! Please make sure they're right when they leave the factory the first time though.

Kimber did fix it well enough that I will now purchase another Kimber, I guess anyone can have one slide through the cracks.

    Sorry for going off topic.

My mags that came with my CDP Pro are crap, then again it's a .40 not a .45, the mags that came with my CDP compact are good to go, but I replaced them with Wilsons that I all reeady had.

    I'd go for Wollf's new 1911 mags: http://www.gunsprings.com/1ndex.html

I bought a pair of these, and have been very happy with them. In fact, they are my carry mags now.

Honestly, the Kimpro TAC-MAG's should be the mag in the gun when you purchase a Kimber. They are stupid to send quality gun's out with less than quality mag's in them. I don't get it!

I also use either Wilson or Tripp Cobra mag's in mine and they work as they should. Actually after and only after I got a complete reliability tune on mine did the Kimber mag work with the gun. So actually in my case it seem's as if the gun was the problem and not the mag or the mag did not work well with the gun the way it was, possibly unfinished touches that the mag didn't like. Cleaned up, it's good to go.

The Tac-Mag's are good quality and are in line with the Wilson's.

Just got another shipment of Kimber Kimpro Tac-Mags. I now use them instead of Wilsons. Zero problems reported from customers. We give them heavy use. The ones I carry are proven but nearly new. The range mags get pretty beat up, but the new Kimber mags hold up better than anything else, at the moment. I'd like to hear any complaints about them.

+1. Why in the world Kimber sends out guns (aluminum framed models) with mags that chew the frame up is beyond me.

Yes, but the new Kim Pro Tac mag's are as good as the Wilson's.
