Bought a XD 9 service model today

Traded my 1991A1 full size and a Browning Hi-power clone for a XD-9 today. Put 100 rounds through it at the range. I did pretty good for the first time out. I really liked the trigger pull, ad fell of the pistol, very similar to my 1911s.

I have been carrying it around the house this evening in a cheap IWB holster. A bit lighter then my 1911 Officers model. But the grip is longer. still conceals pretty well. Not getting poked by the thumb safety and the hammer is nice. I think my 1911 OM will still see a lot of use though. Simply because it does conceal a bit better. If the gun shop I went to had the XD Sub compact I think I would have gone with that instead. But over all I'm happy with my trade.

Glad you like it. The XD series seems to be a good ,solid platform.

    Thanks.
I hope so. Of course after I bought it I have been spending time on the XDTalk forum. Reading about other peoples problems with their XD.

Finish problems (rust) and Springfield not selling any parts and wanting you to send the pistol in for even minor repairs is the biggest complaints I see. If SA will pay round trip for any repairs doesn't seem to bad to me.
