Show me beat up SIG EQUINOX!

    Hey Everyone,

I love the look of the Sig Equinox finish! In fact, I can't get enough of the subdued shine of any brushed nickel looking pieces. I love it so much I want to see some old, beat up, and scratched ones. I just bought my first Sig in this configuration and I'd like to get an idea of what to expect over the years. I'll be keeping her in leather from DM Bullard. I'm not a fan of kydex because people say it's tough on finishes. Plus, how can anyone not enjoy good leather...car interiors, shoes, jackets, briefcases, saddle bags, wallets, holsters...hell, we're firearm enthusiasts, not vegans.

So, if you have any well used, worn, beat up, Equinox and similarly styled finished guns, I'd love to see them.

    Many thanks

Tie a string to it and drag it behind the bus.

I have a much carried worn 229 with the slide that looks just like the pictured equinox with the polished SS highlights on the side of the slide, but does not say equinox on the slide.I'm almost positive it was a tradein from a federal Agency, the nite sites barely glow, but it shoots just great, but my EDC is a 1911

I have an equinox p220 and p238 that I shoot often. But I also take care of my nice stuff. So sorry it doesn't fit your criteria.

Duk: Sounds sweet. Can you post a pic?

Trust: Yeah, it seems like most people who own shiny guns take care of them. ;) All my guns are pretty, with the exception of the Glock, but I wear'em and shoot'em. I haven't broken into a high enough tax bracket yet to start collecting for the sheer joy of it. I do plan on pocket carrying a p238 equinox. It shouldn't get beaten up too bad, me thinks.

We have a member making a specific photo request. Granted not a common one. Post a pic if you have one & if not then just move on.

They are beutiful. I have a SP2022 triple serial all German that has the Illaflon finish on the slide. I love the looks of Illaflon.

I'm a Sig fan boy and proud of it.

Trust...I like your taste in Sigs, and thanks for posting the pics. People say the equinox finish isn't as resilient as some of the others, but those look immaculate.

Thanks. The p220 gets carried in kydex. Occasionally I use it for IDPA style 2-gun matches and it's held up well. The p238 gets carried a lot AIWB in a stoner leather holster and I haven't noticed any abnormal wear? Sure you may see some faint scuffs but nothing I'd take a second glance at. I actually like guns that have patina and holster wear even though these sigs don't have it. But I think there's a difference between well worn but maintained and beat up.

And yes. I concur. Nothing beats great leather! Do you use any leather dressing?

I've been using this stuff lately. Draws like butter!
