MP9 Shield, is the honeymoon over?

I've been eyeing the MP9 Shield but wanted to hold out on buying one till they had been around for a while. It seems like a nice option for CC, more dependable than a PM9 and easier to conceal than a G26.

So they've have been out long enough for problems to appear, have any? I'm open to even rumors, they can be checked out you know. Just want to be as sure as I can before dropping the money on one.

Mine has been flawless. Almost to the point of boring. It's a great shooter!

I have a shield in 40 cal, and it eats everything. Recoil is managable too. I'm currently using Hornady 175 gr Critical Duty ammo as my choice.

I have had no problems with mine either, using federal, Remington, pmc, and independence 115 gr fmj and Remington golden saber +P 124 gr. I'm sure if you look around a little on the Internet you'll find that the shield has lived up to the hype.

The honeymoon has just begun with mine!

Great gun, I have one in 9mm and love it... bought the M&P 9C because of the Shield lol.

One ftf in 500 rounds in my 40 and the ammo was at fault so I'm good

I need to get one, If I could pass it of to the wife as a old gun that was setting in the safe for years ; )

a loaded Sheild can easily have the slide knocked out of battery, and it does not return on its own. Basically you pull your Shield in a self defense situation, and all you will get is a click (if you're lucky).....gun will not fire. This is not an isolated instance, as I have read a lot of people complaining about this. All have sent back to Smith & Wesson for repair.
Do a google on this issue if you don't believe me. I love M&P's, so I have no stake in this other than to warn current owners to see if theirs does the same thing. It apparently only does this with a loaded weapon.

Went with the Walther PPS after comparing it and the Shield.

So it goes bang when it's empty? :)

Exactly what Bark'n said. Not one problem with mine, and shoot it weekly

Thanks for the suggestion, I'll check it out as well.

I do not like the going out of battery thing on the shield. Can this be fixed? Are they all that way?

I double checked mine and it doesnt do this. So it can be isolated and if it did Smith and Wesson backs their products with a lifetime warranty
