I've got not axe to grind with Springfield, but with all the proven 9mm carry pistols on the market, what's the point?!

    Looks Just Like...

    a Kimber Ultra CDP II...
    Except that...it's not a .45 and I couldn't be that much cheaper...
It is a nice looking gun!

It is nice looking. But i thought the micro compact was small enough, and it's a .45.

It's an interesting pistol. Time will tell if it has reliability issues or not but, a prediction that it's going to sell like buttered hotcakes if it's a functional pistol.

Small handed people are going to snatch them up.

Wow, that's light for a 1911. You certainly won't be able to use standard 1911 upgrade parts. The only practical difference between this and a Micro Compact that I can see is the much smaller grip which is a non-starter for big hands like I have. .45GAP is made for people with smaller hands.

Somewhere around $1200. When I found out about it I was intriuged until I saw the price.

Comparable in size to the STI LS/BLS series (STI is 5oz heavier). At $1200, SA is $400-500 more than the STI, and does not appear to be using a linkless, ramped, barrel, which was one of STI's major reliability-enhancing mods (still an 80/20 experience, for me). SA's big leap is the mag- if its properly designed, I've got a feeling they will have a major winner. We'll see........
