    In silhouette shooting, there are two dominant guns; the Thompson Contender and the Buckmark. My Buckmark has operated 20 years of silhouette shooting and is still going strong.

    Of course, Rugers are darn good too.

    Yeah, I was going to get a Springfield WWII OD Green 1911 since they stopped manufacturing them. Not sure if they provide conversions for that though.

    I have a Ruger MKIII 512, MKIII 22/45, Ruger Standard, and a Walther P22.
    Recommend the Ruger line.

    The ruger. I have the 22/45 and its accurate reliable and built like a tank. And there reasonably priced pistols to boot. Like others said Ive lost count of the rounds through mine but its plenty and still works like a charm. Good luck in finding the right one. Have a good one

    dont get a .22 get a .45. i suggest a 1911. maybe the springfield GI in OD green!

    Any Ruger MK II with a 5 1/2 or 6 7/8 inch bull bbl will do. Also a 5 1/2 inch 22/45.

    I have an older 512 and a 22/45. Both shoot great. They are great training weapons. -------

    for ccw go with the beretta. i have two and they are great shooters and you can put it your pocket. now for range shooting the ruger mk2 is the way to go. never had any probems with my mk2.
