    You know, to truly CYA...you may want to look at the XD45 Tactical or Compact Tactical.

    5" barrel, instead of the XD45's 4".

    Or perhaps a full size M&P45.

    As for carrying...pretty much any full-sized handgun can be carried concealed with the use of a proper holster, belt, and a willingness to make minor modifications to one's wardrobe.

    The Glock model 30.

    I am 6' 215 broad at shoulders. I carry the model 30 daily IWB. I have a kydex IWB and a Cross Breed holster. I carry and extra mag good capacity and very accurate. I put asset of Advantage Tactical sights on it. To date I have put over 800 rounds of 230 grain 45 ammo through it and not one yes that's right not one FTF. This gun is very accurate fast into action and as reliable as any weapon Imhave ever owned. The AT sites really are fantastic for fast and accurate target acquisition. Shorter barrel but you can get an extended barrel for the other requirements.

    to anyone thinking of an XDs,its still to new,MANY are being sent back to Springer for issues
    including my own lemon...id give it another 4 months or so ..My LGS sold 6 in one week
    and 3 are lemons,nice gun when they work

    i would try for a used Sig P-220, but i really like Sigs. i also second the poster who said Ruger P-97. and the .45 M&P's.
