    .22 For Bullseye

I am looking for some opinions on what would serve best for 25 yard Bullseye shooting. There are only 2 choices for me so please I appreciate other suggestions but the choice is between these two:

    Marvel Conversion Kit for 1911

Ruger Hunter with 6" fluted barrel

    Thanks in advance.

I've had a number of .22 targets pistols over the years and I've always gone back to the Browning Buckmark. This is my second one (after regretting selling my first one).

If your choices are truly limited to the two above, I would say the Ruger would be inherrently more accurate because of the fixed barrel.

Ruger MKIII is a great target gun in any variation.

Ruger MkII, or MkIII if you can't find a decent MkII. Add the Volquartsen trigger kit and you've got a really sweet-shooting gun.

I shoot a Ruger Mk III for bullseye, so will agree that it's a good choice for starting out. BUT, if I had a chance to use a good Marvel .22 conversion for my 1911, I'd drop the Ruger in a heartbeat. The 1911 trigger is so much nicer for the bullseye game, and Marvel makes a great conversion kit.

I will agree on the Ruger also, I have an old Mark One I have won a few turkey shoots with. My favorite though is a S&W Model 41 I acquired a while back.

The Smith & Wesson Model 41 is about as good as they get.

Since you are limiting the choices to 2 options. I vote for the Ruger over a 1911 conversion kit.
