    Taurus

What do folks think about Taurus wheelguns right now? I have owned several and really enjoyed them and they were 100% reliable, but have heard some lesss than flattering reviews on the new ones. I am esp. interested in the CIA & Tracker models. Thanks!

    randyb,

I have a model 85TI with concealed hammer that I carry in an ankle holster sometimes. It is accurate and very light, hardly know you are wearing it. It has been 100% reliable with 1000+ rounds through so far. :kay:

I used to own a Taurus 617, and it was very reliable and accurate. I fired well over 1,000 rounds through it.

I had a Taurus 85 and put over 500 rounds through it no problem. I like the cost v value arguement for their wheelguns.

I have the Taurus 617 7-shot .357 and the 651 5-shot .357. Love them both. Many rounds through both. I have carried both many times. I think they are very reliable.

I\'ve owned four Taurus revolvers. Two were great. One was okay. The fourth was awful.

The okay one had its cylinder start binding after about a thousand rounds. A trip to the factory solved that and it\'s been good ever since.

They bad one wasn\'t square or true on the back face of the forcing cone and would bind against the cylinder if you went more than about 50 rounds without cleaning it. Also, it\'s double action trigger was rough as gravel while it\'s single action trigger would trip at about 1/2-lb. The trigger in either mode had about 3/16-inch of overtravel too.

For Taurus revolvers, the saving grace for the okay-but-not-great quality control that I\'ve experienced has been the guaranty. Have a problem? . . . send it back . . . for free . . . forever.
