    Deal or No Deal ???

I have the opportunity to trade a Beretta 92 FS Enduring Freedom, Navy Edition and a Ruger GP100 with a 4 inch barrel for a Kimber Ultra in Stainless.

The Beretta has 40 rounds through it and the Ruger has about 200. The Kimber is NIB.

    Deal or No Deal?

    Not a great deal

I figure your GP100 is worth about $350 and your Beretta 92 about $550, for a total on your side of $900.

A new Kimber stainless Ultra Carry goes for about $800, if it is not one of the fancy upgraded models like CDP, Eclipse, Tactical, etc. You can check these prices on Gunbroker or Auction Arms.

I would say the Kimber seller is getting the better end of the deal.

Which model Kimber? Ultra Carry, Ultra CDP, ??? I'm not a big fan of the Beretta 92fs but the GP-100 is a good "all around" gun and at 200 rounds it's just starting to get broken in.

If you like the shorty 1911s Kimber seems to have them figured out and it don't get much better condition than NIB. I guess it just comes down to would you rather have a compact .45 carry gun or a good, all purpose .357. Tough choice either way you go.

It's an Ultra Carry II. It has an internal extractor...

Well, I sold my S&W M66 with about the same amount of wear as your GP earlier this year, I got $350 for it and it was a good deal for my area. There's a NIB Pro Carry II in the case at another shop I frequent priced at $765 (I've been considering getting that one). New gun prices seem to be a bit higher in my area than other parts of the country though so take your regional prices into account.

No deal, the Enduring Freedom model may rise in value, while a Kimber will most likely depreciate

I'm kinda leaning your way. I'll probably not shoot the Beretta. The Ruger is a "Fun" gun to mess around with. I already have four "Carry" guns, so I don't need a fifth.

    No way I'd do it.

I would also say no deal. The Ultra carrys can be had fairly cheap. I'd choose to keep the beretta and ruger and just save up for the Kimber. If it was a CDP or Eclipse or something it would be a different story.

After kicking it around for the last two days and with the comments from here. NO DEAL!!!

I have two 45's, a 40 and a 38 for carry pieces now. I think that I'm going to look for a 9 to shoot. Of course my buddy says to shoot the Beretta. By the time it's worth anything, I'll be dead.....

If I were you, I'd pass on the deal...........The Beretta is worth more money, along with the Ruger.................If it were a Ultra CDP............it's a fair deal..........going your way............otherwise it's not
