I think yellowv explained it perfectly above.
I just ran a search on www.gunsamerica.com for Kimber Team Match II..... all the photos that show the right side of the brand new ones for sale all have external extractors.
Checked several other sites after running a google search... all the results were the same.... external extractors. Here's one:
www.gunshopfinder.com/Kimber/teammatch2.asp

The Team Match II .45 ACP has a stainless steel slide and frame, along with the new, innovative Kimber Tactical Extractor with loaded chamber indicator feature. Custom features include 30 LPI front strap checkering and special red, white and blue USA Shooting Team logo grips. Available in .45 ACP only.

Info from Kimber...
After my question & the discussion about the external extractor, I called Kimber today to get info from the source. A couple of you guys hit it right on the head...the Team Match II is made with an external extractor. The one I bought is not an left over older model as I suspected. The guy I spoke with ran the serial # & said it was manufactured in June of this year.
Thanks for all the help.
