I see Springers EMP is 33oz versus the their Loaded Micro-Compact that is only 26oz (due the the aluminum frame). Otherwise, they look the same. Why would I want the heavier gun?

The EMP only comes in 9mm (alum. alloy frame (26oz)) and .40S&W (steel frame (33oz)). The Loaded Micro-Compact only comes in .45ACP (alum. alloy frame (26oz)). Basically, choose which caliber you want to go with in the same sized 1911. I have the heavier .40S&W EMP and am very happy with it. The extra weight doesn't bother me while carrying it.
Been looking at the EMP compared to the Kimber version. Too bad the Springers don't have a laser grip available as standard. Add the price of it and it well exceeds the Kimber pricing with the LG. I like the idea of the EMP with the .40 though.
Never noticed much recoil with my Loaded Micro-Compact.
