Try a Glock 26 holster. That's what I'm using for mine.

I've tried using panty shields but in the humidity I seem to get more chafing than protection

Just one: The right dot on my rear sight. I noticed some dust had gotten into the recession that makes the sight. So I tried to clean out the dust with a toothbrush. I went to the range later that afternoon, and now there is NO WHITE PAINT in that dot anymore. I am completely perplexed and will be calling S&W tomorrow.

Otherwise, it has been a fine little gun that has functioned flawlessly for 1000+ rounds.

I honestly felt that my chances of purchasing a S&W Shield was very slim when I was looking for a CCW pistol because I'm not a huge fan of M&P pistols in general. However, after researching and analyzing a number of leading CCW pistols, the Shield was a stark contrast to the other options.

ya know something. I keep hearing "do you have any Shields"?? We have em for 399.95 out the door. Right now, with all the hunt for them, we at KTP are taking orders for them. It takes about 2-3 weeks for one (or more) to com ein, and most people expect the guns to be in stock. Yes, they should, BUT they're not, and most people don't want to place themselves in line to recieve one. (I got mine, as 40 cal, in about 3 weeks and I was the 3rd in line)
Seems everybody is way too impatient for the guns, and if they REALLY want one, place your special order, be patient, and await your turn. Easy as that. We don't even ask for a deposit, as it's going to be a regular stocking item. The guns are coming in at about 3 per week, so we're pretty much caught up.
    Good luck in the quest.

There are four LGS in my county that I frequent. One of them has had one Shield in when they first came out. He has some pre-sold, but hasn't been able to fulfill those yet. He does not have any idea of when he will have inventory. The other three shops haven't seen the first one!

Any price gouging out there for them? Or are they pretty much going for MSRP?
