It could be, but I would think they'd keep it the same so there's redundancy with the current XDs model. I also think that, by keeping the current dimensions, they could take advantage of it and increase magazine capacity, and directly start taking Shield customers from S&W.
I would guess that the difference will be between .15 and .25 of an inch. Most single stack come in around .90 t0 1.15 Most double stack are between 1.17 and 1.25

Springfield lists the width at the slide stop at 1 inch. My understanding was that the frame size was going to stay the same for the other calibers.
