What back up gun do you use?

I am looking for a SA/DA semi in at least 9mm that has similar controls to my HK45C (V1.) I want a safety and decocker where the safety works in the same direction ( up is safe.) I would get the P2000sk but it is still too big for pocket carry and way too big for an ankle. P2000SK also does not offer a safety switch. Any reccomendations would be appreciated.

a J-FRAME .357 revolver. If you are on your back-up, you don't want do have to do anything but point and shoot. This is when I'm carry more of a full size semi-auto.

When I carry a .357 - 7 shot revolver, the PF9 keltec is the backup.

I don't know of any SA/DA pistols that also have a safety and a decocker that would be small enough for pocket carry (doesn't mean they don't exist) . I have a Keltec PF-9, Kahr CM9/CM40 that work great, but are all DAO with no safety but are at least in the service caliber you are seeking of 9mm and up.
Good luck in your quest....but I think you might need to change up your requirements a bit if you want to pocket carry.

Glock 19, but again, probably not the answer you are after.

When ever possible I try to stay in the same line for instance Glock, M&P etc and use the smallest in the line as the BUG as the controls are the same. If its still too big or a smaller version is not offered I go to a J frame that is as simple as it gets.

Depends. I always try to keep BUG in the same caliber as my primary. G26/G19, G27/G23, etc.
