    new Sig P220 Compact SAS

    Hey All,
been making the rounds on several forums today, reporting on my new Sig P220 Compact SAS
First range trip today: ZERO MALFUNCTIONS.

200 rounds of various 230gr ball and defensive loadings., no drama or surprises.

I shot from 4 yds in while drawing from concealment and moving offline
and from 45 yds out, where I hit a tennis ball off a post!

This thing is quality, plain and simple. accurate, minimal muzzle rise, quick on target, positive brass ejection.

Beautiful weapon (even in an odd upside down pose...)

Yeah....I love the look of handguns while they are upside down!
For some reason, it allows you to see the cool angles and lines of a gun, perhaps because it is out of context (we are so used to seeing them in the upright pose)

I like those 220's, have been thinking about the full sized 220 Elite, however what you have would CC better.

I have the carry model 220 SAS. It is the most accurate semi auto I own. They are absolutely awesome to shoot, and carry nicely as well.

    Excellent choice! Enjoy it.

    Resembles the P245 model...

Your gun bears a strong resemblance to my P245, which is shown below. The P245 is a discontinued model that was replaced by the P220 Compact. I see that yours does not include the rather strange beavertail that Sig put on some of its new variations.

to my knowledge, those beavertails are only on the Elite versions and the P-220 Super Match SAO. i happen to like the way they look, though i know they're not necessary.

Ya, the beavertail was standard for a while, even on the compact 220!
Mine is the newest version, which is the Compact SAS Gen2. It has the short trigger, short reset trigger, melt job, and all the usual Sig P series features.
I actually bought some P245 magazine base plates, because they are slightly shorter than the stock baseplates on the 220 Compact.
For me, the shorter baseplates are better.

Also, the P245 had the stamped and folded carbon slide, while the newer 220 has the stainless steel milled slide.
But, the P245 has long been one of my favorite Sigs!
I hated when they discontinued them, because I didn't yet have one!
Then they came out with the 220 compact, but it had that goofy beavertail (IMO)..
As soon as I saw the newest gen, especially with the SAS treatment, I had to have one!
