Barsto 9MM conversions. Do they work?

The resident armorer and many, many posters on SIGforum suggest that they do. Apparently the size of the breech-face and the location of the extractor and the weight of the slide return spring are not an issue. Does anyone over here have any experience with these conversions? It would be nice if that sigmaniac that works at Kittery Trading Post, which is huge, fulla guns and fishing crap and way cooler than Bean's, could chip in....

Bob - something tells me you are wanted

I'd agree with Bud - probably just fine for range use.

I have a 229 that was originally a .40 cal. I put a Bar-Sto 9mm conv barrel in and it's by far the most accurate 9mm handgun I've ever owned. It's been 100% reliable with the conv barrel and I would not hesitate to use it as a ccw if I got the urge.
The heavy slide of the 229 makes the 9mm a real cream puff in regards to recoil as well.
