How well does Glock 19 ride?

When i first started carrying a few years ago, i carried a Glock 30 IWB with a supertuck, and also had a custom leather OWB made, but didnt appreciate the weight of the gun. Since then, i have been a 38 special airweight fan, and thats what i carry 100% of the time.

I was thinking about getting a new Glock 19... not that i need a new gun, or dislike what i carry, its more of a want thing. A friend of mine just got a Glock 19 gen 4 and it fit my hand oooh so nicely.

I live in NYS so it is 10 rounds max with the 19.

    1. How much does it weigh loaded?
    2. can you post a picture of your carry rig for OWB?
    3. How do you like it?
    4. Any regrets with the 19?

I dont think i want to go back to IWB, so its OWB or nothing. Any insights would be greatly appreciated. thanks. bunker

    1. IDK. not too heavy. not too light.
    2. I carry my G19, very comfortably, in a Crossbreed Supertuck (sorry IWB).
    3. It's awesome. It's the only Glock I have...and if I could only have one, it would be a 19.
    4. No regrets.

It carries just fine! I use a CB slide holster part of the time, a Fobus paddle some times, a Pur Kustom black leather IWB/OWB for dress occasions, and the Glock Sport/Combat plastic cheapy holster at other times. You won't regret having the G19.

I carry my G19 OWB in an X-Concealment "C" series, usually only during the colder weather months when I have more than one layer on. Carrying OWB makes it harder to conceal, so I only carry that way when I can get away with at least a light jacket as well.

X-Concealment Holster; Holsters, Gun holster, pistol holsters, Mag pouch, Magazine pouch, Kydex Holster, Concealment Holster, Glock holsters, Pmag pouch, and Tactical Gear

As far as your other questions, I have been really impressed with the G19. It's been a great pistol so far and I have absolutely no regrets with the purchase.

I don't OWB, so I can't comment there. The G19 is my primary cc for IWB though, and I've tried just about everything else.

BTW, if you can only have a 10 rnd capacity, you might consider the G26. Below is a pic of my G26 IWB rig, and it works very well. I find the handling of the shortened grip to be negligible in affecting shooting accuracy. On some days I shoot it better than the G19.

In my VMII, it carries as well as I could ask. An excellent rig.

I have a G19 and g26, and I have to go along with the advice you received from WHEC724; since you're limited to 10 rounds, and you are interested in OWB carry only, the Glock 26 has a smaller footprint overall and would be easier to carry that way.

I found the best OWB holster for the Glock to be the cheap $12-14 holster that Glock makes, and is readily available on line.

I carried a 19 for some time using just a Blackhawk IWB clip holster. Very comfortable and fairly easy to conceal. Weighs around 30 oz with a 15 round mag, so subtract a bit from there. The only OWB holster I have for it is a cheap Uncle Mike's but it carries well in that too.

I'd second the recommendation to look at G26 since you're limited anyway. I've gone to a G27 as my primary mainly because I wanted the 40 cal bullet, but also because the smaller size is MUCH easier to conceal and a bit more comfortable for all day wear.

do you find a big weight difference from the 19 to the 26?

The actual difference in weight is about 2 oz. Since in NYS 10 rds. is your max, the difference in weight would not change. It would however, if you had 15 0r 16 rounds in the 19.

The biggest difference is grip size. The longer g19 grip sticks through a shirt when conceal carrying OWB, unless you buy oversized shirts.

carry my G19 OWB in a Black Hawk Serpa.....very fast holster if you've never tried one. Also have a right hand and left hand Serpa holster for my G26/27/33. Like 'em a lot.
Carry my G30SF in a simple Fobus Paddle holster OWB. They all work fine.

    G-19 is A+

if your hand fits since you got the 10 round limit look at the 26.

The Blackhawk Serpa Carbon Fiber holster is great for my G26 and it has the paddle holster option for it as well. I can also use the N82(?)Tactical for it as well as for three of my other guns.

Glock 19, OWB, is my EDC..G26 is my BUG...Only approx half inch difference in size and less than half ounce difference in weight. Either weapon is very dependable and accurate...I did put XS Big Dot sights on both weapons...

Here are your specs for G26: GLOCK 26

Here are your specs for G19: Glock

OWB holsters are a matter of preference in my opinion...Mine came from: Next Holster and is: Next Holster Guardian You can wear this holster either IWB or OWB simply by reversing the clips...I've never had a better holster... Hope this helps you..
