I'll admit I don't "get" the 1911 crap but I'd opt for the Colt. It is more attractive. That is why you should buy the Sig. Judging things solely based on looks has not served me very well in other aspects of my life and suspect its a poor reason to choose a firearm as well.

That's funny and true.
As for the pistol, the only Colt with cricketing that I've handled was far too agressive for my tastes.

This question should have been set up as a poll. As traditional as the colt is I believe the sig would be a better choice. It looks like it has a laser on it and chances are it has a better trigger.

I love Sig, but I would go with Colt in this scenario.

The one is obviously on GunBroker, so you may have a shot at getting it for a good price, although 1911s seem to be going for top dollar in all venues these days.
Beleive it or not Smitty, it does have a lower ejection port (you're correct, it's not flared) the Commander's ports have always been a little lower than the Government Models. If you look at Pistolas pre-Series 80 Commander above, you'll notice it's lower.

either one.... I'ld lean towards the Colt personally, but whichever one "fits" you the best.

I would get the Colt. I am not really a fan of the Sig 1911s. I like the original guns myself.
