Winner winner, chicken dinner no matter which way you go, but (as much as I love Sigs) I would get a Colt if I were buying a 1911.
I have a very strict gun control policy: if there's a gun around, I want to be in control of it.

I do like the Colt better but for me I would choose the Sig primarily due to the sights, I have a problem seeing the small sights on the Colt.

They're both reliable & have good names & reputations. Go with the one that you get the best deal on. You won't go wrong with either.

Both are great. Go with the one that fits your hand better. There IS a difference.
Amateurs practice until they get it right. Professionals practice until they can’t get it wrong..
I would go with the sig. It looks like there are already laser grips on it as well if you prefer them. It is a tough decision though, but I would go with the one with the best customer support which I have no experience with. I'm not familiar with sig 1911s, but I do own a p220 and know that they do have a very good quality control compared to colt as of present from what I read, but that is just the internet and not personal experience. I think sigs are new to 1911's and colt's are of course the original so its a toss up imo.
Which model is the Sig? If it is the RCS I now it's a well made easy to carry gun. The laser grips aren't a deal maker for me, just me, but they would come off immediately and rosewood thin double diamond grips would go on it.
Either way, a Colt CC is hard to pass on.

Next purchase an AR-15 hopefully
I'd go Colt, no contest. If it ain't a Colt, it's a copy. Besides, the Sig has that deplorable external extractor. I'd rather upgrade the Colt's sights than live with the extractor. YMMV.
Colt! Can't go wrong with either. But, it gets my vote.

I prefer Colts but you should be good with either

Tough decisions like this really rustle my jimmies...
But, I'd have to say Colt. I have one myself and love it. You're not the loser if you pick the Sig though.

An intruder will be incapacitated by tear gas or oven spray, but if shot with a .357 Magnum will get angry and kill you.
Colt all the way.
