Ruger SR1911
Snagged one on GB for $659 plus shipping. Put 148 rounds through it this afternoon. 100% function, not a hiccup. I hit a smidgen right, but maybe its a grip issue. So far I'm impressed. I have not fired a 1911 in almost 20 years. Excellent day at the range!

ANY 1911 is MUCH better than no 1911 at all! I've heard some good stuff about the SR. Congrats & keep us posted on your thoughts.

The only negative so far, is I'd prefer all stainless. The black parts.don't do anything for me. As funds allow, they will disappear.

Nice. I've looked at those a few times myself.
I have a very strict gun control policy: if there's a gun around, I want to be in control of it.

I’ve only put 350 rounds through mine but am more than happy with it plus you got a much better deal, paid $750 for mine.

Pretty Gun, I'd love to have one, but budget won't allow it.

Congrats on your Sr1911 gun. You've got a great gun there. Didn't know if you knew it, but the frame, slide and bushing are all milled from the same piece of stock, and placed in a bin, and then moved down the line to the next operation. This makes for a stronger and tighter fit of all those parts. Hope the gun serves you well.

I like the plastic stuff just fine. My other 45 is an XD. Really though, an all steel pistol is bound to cost more. And it also says "Made in the USA" on it. That ain't free...

Congrats! There must be something in the Y-Chromosome that requires a 1911 in order to feel complete.

Congrats OP!!!
Another one that's on my list, you beat me to it I guess...
As for the quoted above, I'm guessing there are some deleted posts I missed?

Congrats! I've got a hand me down 1911 that is not very reliable which I love shooting when it operates. I carry a GLOCK 19 and I rank near the top of the GLOCK fanboys. I do have the desire to buy a new 1911 one of these days and the Ruger is climbing the ladder. Enjoy your SR1911!

I've been very happy with my SR1911. Several thousand rounds with no issues. Works fine dirty or clean so far.
Did have to adjust the sear spring to get rid of a rattle on the grip safety.
