I've never needed Mr. Jacobsen's services on the Series 80's I own, so I don't personally own one of Teddy's pistols, but a friend has (or had) two of them. I have/and have had, both Series 70's and Series 80's since 1984, and from personal experience, both can be tuned to the point of not knowing which is which without looking (by any competent 'smith, not just Mr. Jacobsen). As Mr. Jacobsen has stated in the past, and my gunsmith and many other smith's agree, the problems of tuning a Series 80, begin when attempting to go below 3.5#s. Most all of my 1911s serve as carry weapons, so I've never needed, nor wanted to go below 4.5#.

I have a Series 80 sitting on Chuck Rogers' bench that will undoubtedly come back with a break as crisp as a finely tuned Series 70.
I don't doubt that for a second. :hand10:
