Trigger Action Question for a Kahr CW9

I recently purchased two new handguns, a Taurus Millennium Pro PT-145 and a Springfield Armory Milspec 1911a, and much prefer the trigger action of these two handguns compared to my Kahr CW9.

I'm not a very mechanically-oriented person, so I can use some assistance here.

Can a good gunsmith adjust the trigger action on my Kahr so that it closely replicates the action on my PT-145 and 1911? If so, what is a typical price I can expect to pay for this service?

    Thank you in advance.

What are you wanting? Shorter pull? Quicker reset? I guess I'm not understanding what you are wanting? The Kahr has 2 different triggers, the NYPD or older trigger which is a half inch pull before it goes bang, or Elite trigger 3/8 in pull to go bang. Just smoothing the parts maked the pull smoother and you can change a few pars to go to the elite trigger but the last few years all Kahrs have had the Elited trigger except the NYPD spec pistols

Kahrs are fine guns, but you will not be able to get anything close to a 1911 pull out of it.

That is very true. I have both triggers for my Kahr and I find the Elite trigger more to my liken and better for punching holes in paper or competing but for every day carry I think the NYPD trigger is better.I have found practice with the Kahrs is the best way to master the trigger.

I thought the Elite trigger on the PM40 I recently sold was pretty darn good. Is the older NYPD trigger really that bad? Because I've heard quite a few complaints.

I agree w/ "practice is the best way to smooth out kahr trigger". They are heavy, but break very clean. I haven't heard about work being done to kahr triggers, not to say that somebody can't do it....I just wouldn't bother. Kind of the "it is what it is mentallity."

Personally, I love the trigger on my K9. It's an older model pre-NYPD spec. The trigger doesn't break as cleanly as a tuned 1911, but as others have said, practice helps a great deal.

Got my kahr two months ago. Mine has been very reliable out of the box. One FTF in 400 rounds.(only because I was riding the slide). But every since I was I introduced to the G30, both my kahr and my desert eagle have been very jealous.
