    New addition to Ruger family.

Been awhile since I picked up a new handgun.

The SR1911 is the most recent addition to my growing family of Rugers (10/22 not shown).

Was surprised by the GP100 being just a little bigger.

Should be able to get out sometime next week to see how the SR1911 runs. Planning on ordering a Simply Rugged Cuda OWB holster for carry option.

Nice addition and great photography! I only have one Ruger so far, but I'm sure there will be many more to come.

Great-looking guns. But, I always cringe when I see them laying on concrete.

I, like the OP, was surprised that the GP was longer than the SR. Have fun with those Rugers.

That's funny. I was careful (didn't drag them around too much).

This make you feel better? That's where they were before put on concrete for pics.

    Thanks for the complements guys.

Haven't run the SR yet. Probably later in the week. So far first impressions are good. Fit and finish seems fine. Weight is fine (seems the same as the GP) and should make shooting a breeze.

Would like to pick up a Speed Six and a LCR eventually.

    Nice guns and nice photos.

Ruger is a great company that takes care of their customers well, oh, and they make nice firearms too. I have several myself (P95, Police Six .357, SP101). I've been looking at 1911s again...perhaps I need to take a very close look at the Ruger offering. Thanks for posting, I'll be looking at one myself soon.

I have the SR1911. Fine weapon. Love the way it shoots and it is a tack driver. By far the most accurate gun I have. Have put about 1500 rounds thru mine.

Long been a fan of Ruger firearms and the SR-1911 is just one of many. Been very happy with my SR 1911, great trigger, fantastic accuracy and just plain fun to shoot. You made a great choice.
