Need help with this question
I'm not sure this is the right forum for this question but here goes anyway.
I'm having a "discussion" with someone who is very anti-gun ownership. I recently read a quote by a General in WW2 ( I believe he was Japanese) that went something like, "I would never invade the United States because all of their citizens are armed".
Does anyone know what I'm talking about and can give me the quote and who said it? I've looked on line and can't come up with it.
Thanks!

This it?
“I would never invade the United States. There would be a rifle behind every blade of grass.” -- Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto, commander in chief of the Japanese naval forces and architect of the Pearl Harbor, Early in World War II

May want to continue the research. I've researched this quote in the past, as great as it is, and found that he never actually said it. I'm hoping you can prove me wrong.

I will check it out Nebraska. I wish I could remember where I first heard it.
Anyway, I already quoted it to my "friend" so now it's in their ballpark to prove me wrong.
Even if he didn't actually say that, the sentiment is 100% true.

I've read it before, so he must've said it.

Please cite your source. I'd love to look into it. As I recall from my research, the quote could not be substantiated by any reputable source outside of other gun forums, blogs, and Wiki-whatevers. In fact when quoted, words like allegedly or supposedly often accompany it.
As I've said, I hope that I'm wrong on this one.

Here is something you can say to this anti-gun person:
All people are created equal and are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights. One of these Rights is the Right of the people to keep and bear Arms, and like all other Rights, this Right shall not be infringed. That means you CANNOT take this Right or any other Right away from me or anyone else. You are free to feel differently. I'm sure you must have some pretty strong feelings about what Rights YOU BELIEVE others SHOULD have and SHOULD NOT have. If you feel so strongly about your desire to strip my Rights from me that you will try to force me to comply with ONLY the Rights YOU WANT me to have, then you must be prepared for me and others like me to defend ALL of our Rights from your infringement. People and Governments DO NOT issue Rights and they DO NOT control Rights. My Rights come from my Creator. If you are not my Creator, then do not try to alter or control my Rights.
